Why train at KSFX?

KSFX is a professionally focused school that ensures students will be work-ready to the highest standards.

At KSFX, students receive intensive tuition from top industry professionals, whose expertise expose students to meticulous skills in both technical and creative aspects and provide them with ‘real world’ knowledge.  The course has been designed to ensure plenty of one-on-one tutor-to-student focus.

What are the course entry requirements?

KSFX courses do not require any previous experience or training as we start at the basics. All students need to bring with them is an enthusiasm and creative energy to learn. 

Is KSFX NZQA accredited?

The KSFX Diploma of Special FX is not NZQA accredited, but is a private industry-recognised course based on industry standard skills, application, and knowledge. Students will be provided with industry contacts and guidance with ‘real-world’ experience.

What do the students receive on completion of the course?

Depending on their level of ability, students can be awarded varying levels of distinction.

Graduates take away a Diploma of Special FX Make-Up certificate and their professional make-up kits.

What are employment prospects?

The KSFX Diploma of Special FX is an industry-recognised course and students will see opportunities open up in fields such as films, television, photo shoots, magazines, music videos, commercials, advertising, and freelance.

Success is up to the individual; but equipped with professional work standards, technical skills, fresh thinking, and a good attitude, graduates can earn a reputation that allows them to go far.

What does the course fee include?

All KSFX course fees include the use of fully equipped work stations, use of the extensive school make-up kit.  On commencement of the Diploma of Make-up Artistry course, students are provided with their own basic make-up kit supplied by Minifies (but the case is not included). This has everything students need to get started. These kits are used by students in class, and can be taken with you when you graduate

Can a student loan be acquired?

KSFX courses are not NZQA accredited, so there is no option to acquire a student loan. Interested students can talk to the school about payment plans.

What are the enrolment procedures?

To enrol in the KSFX Diploma of Special FX course, interested students just need to fill out an application form online. Upon acceptance, an $1000 non-refundable deposit is to be paid to ensure placement. It is advised for enrolment to be completed as soon as possible since spaces are limited.
